Meet Craig Hartwick

Founder of Hartwick Tree & Wood

Craig Hartwick didn’t just build a tree care company, he built one that reflects exactly who he is: a credentialed professional, a committed community member, and someone who genuinely cares about the land he works on.

Hartwick Tree & Wood is locally owned and operated in the heart of Niagara, proudly serving Pelham and the surrounding area. Craig founded the company on a straightforward premise. That property owners deserve expert guidance from someone with the training and experience to back it up, delivered with honesty and respect for the natural environment.

A 2016 graduate of Humber College’s Arboriculture program, Craig holds credentials that set him apart: ISA Certified Arborist, Ontario Qualified Arborist, and licensed Landscape Exterminator.

That combination of formal education and hands-on field experience means he approaches every project, whether it’s a routine pruning visit, a complex removal, or a difficult tree health diagnosis, with both technical precision and practical judgment. He knows what he’s looking at, and more importantly, he knows what to do about it.

What makes Hartwick Tree & Wood different isn’t just the credentials on paper. It’s the approach behind them. Craig believes healthy trees and safe landscapes aren’t competing priorities. They go hand in hand. Every recommendation is made with both the tree and the property owner in mind.

Outside of work, Craig is a devoted husband and father of two who understands firsthand why safe, well-maintained outdoor spaces matter to families. When he’s not in the field, you’ll find him on his dirt bike, relaxing at the family cottage, or volunteering at Agape Valley, a local ministry he’s deeply committed to.

That connection to community isn’t incidental. It’s part of what drives the way Hartwick Tree & Wood operates: rooted in Niagara, invested in the people who live here, and accountable to the neighbourhoods it serves.

When you hire Hartwick Tree & Wood, you’re not calling a faceless company. You’re calling Craig, and that makes all the difference.

I cannot say enough good things about Craig and the crew at Hartwick Tree & Wood. From the initial estimate to the final rake-up, they were top-notch professionals every step of the way.

Watching this crew work is truly impressive—they operate like a well-oiled machine with total precision and a clear focus on safety. They handled the job efficiently, took great care around our property, and when they were finished, the yard was cleaner than when they arrived. It’s rare to find contractors who communicate clearly, show up on time, and take this much pride in their work.

If you need tree removal, trimming, or stump grinding done right in the area, don't look anywhere else. Highly, highly recommend Craig and Hartwick Tree & Wood!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t recommend Hartwick Arborist enough. Craig and his team did an incredible job removing a large tree from my property. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and highly skilled.

Watching the team work was honestly impressive. They were well organized, communicated clearly, and handled every step with precision and care. What I expected to be a full-day project was completed by noon without ever feeling rushed. Their preparation, attention to safety, and teamwork really stood out.

The cleanup was just as impressive as the tree removal itself—they left the property looking spotless. It’s clear that Craig and his crew genuinely care about the quality of their work and their customers.

If you’re looking for certified arborists who go above and beyond, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hartwick Arborist. They’ve absolutely earned a 5-star review from me. Thank you again, Craig and the team!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Craig from Hartwick Tree and Wood Ltd. did a fabulous job on cutting down a tree at the front of my house. Communication with him was excellent & he was very reliable. Him & a partner had cut a large tree down & had the place cleaned up in only an hour. We had a family emergency so I almost cancelled my tree cutting, but Craig said there's no need to canceI. He was able to handle everything even though I wasn't home. I would use him again in a heart Great job!
